#7 – Emotional Ease. This meditation will help the emotions flow more freely. You can listen to it to it when you feel rough or upset or simply to experience greater ease in life. By allowing the emotions to be fully felt, without resistance and without mental involvement, they are able to resolve and move through, rather than becoming “stuck”. (Read Mary’s blog post on this meditation.)
#8 – Going Deep Within. Given the opportunity, it’s natural for the mind to settle down. This meditation will help you to become aware of this natural tendency and allow it to take you “deep within”. It’s a somewhat advanced meditation in that the awareness has to be settled enough to notice that natural inward movement. Using some of the other guided meditations can help prepare you for this one.
#9 – Relaxing into Healing. This meditation is to help you take advantage of the natural process of healing that is going on within you all the time. (Read Mary’s blog post on this meditation.)
#10 – Breath in the Heart. A variation on the basic Breath Awareness Meditation, the Breath in the Heart Meditation helps open the heart. This meditation may be useful for those who are grieving. (Read Mary’s blog post on this meditation.)

#12 – Letting Go. This meditation is designed to help you flow more easily with life. It involves letting go of resistance to what is naturally happening, as well as letting go of the attempt to manipulate what is happening. Letting go creates more ease in living. (Read Mary’s blog post on this meditation.)
#13 – Effortless Meditation. True meditation is effortless, and yet we can’t become effortless through trying. This guided meditation is designed to help effortlessness happen. (Read Mary’s blog post on this meditation.)
#14 – Beyond Pain. This meditation helps relieve the suffering that comes with pain. It brings about a state in which pain is transcended to reveal peace within. (Read Mary’s blog post on this meditation.)

#16 – Aliveness. This meditation is designed to enhance your experience of “aliveness” and help you enjoy the fulfillment of simply being alive. If you are new to our meditations, you might want to try some of our others before using this one. It’s a bit more abstract and “subtle”.

Your voice and the background music work in perfect harmony and I am delighted to have found you…
Good luck and many blessings…You are truly gifted…
Eden’s Spirit
You are so welcome, Jacqui. Thank you for visiting the blog and commenting. Warmest blessings to you! Mary
I’m only 26 and I’ve had a hard time with anxiety for much of my life, mostly social anxiety. Only recently have I decided to seek help through therapy. It was during therapy that I came upon your podcasts and I have to say, it has calmed me down and I have healed so much. I never thought anything would work for me. The music aided me in falling asleep, the anxiety reduced, and now I’ve learned to stop and just be. Thanks for your work, your gentleness, and for taking time out to help total strangers
You are so welcome, Melissa! Thank you for sharing your experience here. It is so heart-warming to hear from people who are benefiting from our podcasts — it inspires us to continue. We wish you all the best!
I have subscribed to the Meditation Oasis Podcast for several months and I feel it has saved me my sanity. I work five days a week with people with developmental disabilities. As well, I am a full-time graduate student. Relaxing is very difficult and sometimes impossible. I like the Podcasts because most of them are brief. I have learned a lot about meditation techniques from them and I often try meditating without them when I feel like I have enough energy. Excellent, very helpful – I have recommended the Podcast to my fellow students.
I find the meditations very relaxing, and I often do them in the late evening. I am wondering, however, if you have considered developing a guided meditation to harness positive energy as a technique to start the day?
Thank you very much.
Thank you, Elaine, for taking the time from your busy schedule to visit and comment. I was hoping that some people would not only benefit from using the meditations, but learn to meditate on their own as well. It’s great to hear that that is happening for you!
I’ll give some thought to the idea of a recording a special meditation to start the day. Any meditation that helps you to relax, get centered and become more clear should be a good start to the day. Have you used any of the podcasts in the morning, and if so, what was your experience?
Wishing you well,
Mary
Thank you Mary.
I find the Podcasts relaxing in the morning, but for myself personally, I am searching for meditations that help me focus and use my positive energy. Your Podcasts are excellent for winding down at the end of the day, at least in my opinion – want something that also winds me up!
Thank you again for all of your knowledge and hard work.
Hello again,
I’ll let this idea percolate a bit and see if I come up with something. I’m sure someone else must have done something like that. Let us know if you find something!
Thanks again for stopping by to comment!
Thank you both for the beautiful guided meditations. These are all gems! I have listened to them many times and feel that they are very soothing and calming. I have done many searches on the web for guided meditations and none have the quality and beauty that these do. I’m so grateful to you both for the work you are doing!
Thank you, karunatwo, from both of us for taking time to express your gratitude. We wish you the very best, Mary
Hey,
These podcasts are very helpful to me and I learnt a lot about meditation.
Thank you very much
Ramsrambo
You are so welcome! Mary
Many thanks for sharing these meditations. I especially like # 1 relaxation break. It’s great to listen to at work and truly relaxes me. Amazing!
On a less serious note, have you ever thought of doing a comedic version of a meditation? Like where you say something funny at a particularly relaxing point in the meditation? Just a thought…
Hi Jim, you are very welcome. We originally recorded the relaxation break in the hopes that people could take a break and relax during the day. It’s great to hear that you’re using it at work.
I’ve never thought of doing a comedic guided meditation. What a novel idea! You’ve got me thinking about it — it could be fun!
Thank you both for these beautiful soothing meditations. I am a recovering alcoholic/addict that is clean and sober and have found these meditations as an essential part of my recovery. I have found peace, acceptance and serenity in your meditations. Once again, from the bottom of my heart I thank you, as do my family.
Hi Brad,
I was so moved in reading your comment. Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your recovery and that the meditations have helped. This is why we do this podcast!
You are very, very welcome and we wish you the very best.
Mary
Would you do a meditation on the theme of change/accepting change? Your meditations/podcasts are amazing and a great gift to the world. Thank you!
So glad you are enjoying the podcasts, Suzanne. Next podcast episode is in the works, but I’ll see if I can do something on that theme later on. Thanks for the request!
Best wishes, Mary
Your podcasts are wonderful! I’ve been meditating for many years but hadn’t realised just how much I’d strayed back into resisting thoughts again! So good to be guided back toward equinimity. Thank you both so very much!
Do you have a CD with these podcasts? I know a number of people who would benefit from them but are either not mp3′d or don’t like earplugs. Thanks again and best wishes, Duncan
Yes, Duncan, we do have a CD with 4 of the podcasts, the “Meditation Oasis CD“. The podcast introduction is edited out so that the meditations begin immediately. We also have a number of other CDs. You can check them out at this link.
We’re glad you are enjoying the podcast. It’s so easy to fall into resisting thoughts (as well as emotions and other experiences). That’s what makes guided meditations so effective. You can always go back to meditating on you own and then use the guided meditations as a “tune up”.
You are so welcome, and we send our best wishes to you!
Mary
Dear Mary, my meditation teacher recently retired and I went in search of new learning. I listened and was guided in meditation by your self love podcast and it was wonderful. I will share it with my friends in my meditation group. Thank you. Howard
You are welcome, Harold. It’s good to get your feedback on that particular meditation. It’s more subtle than many of the meditations we’ve podcast. I’m so glad to hear that you resonated with it. Blessings to you and your group!
1st time. a lot to learn. tried #2. what’s next?
Hi Michael,
How did #2 go for you?
See our How to Meditate page for suggestions of beginning meditations. You can work with some of them. Reading through the material on the website can also help support your experience with meditation.
Thank you for doing this. Using these podcasts have helped me to be centred and feel grounded. Usually my emotions are all over the place and as we are going through an adoption process right now, I have never ever felt such calm and the feeling of being grounded…the only thing I did different this time round was meditating.
Your voice is beautiful and soothing…i’m so happy that I’ve found you!
Warm regards,
Linni xx
How heartwarming to hear from you, Linni. We’re so glad you are meditating and that it’s helping. We’re happy that you found us!
Thank you for these meditations. I just listened to the change meditation and it really helped me sort out the thinking from the feelings. I have been doing inner child work with a therapist and was wondering if there might be any guided inner child meditations in the upcoming future? Also it would be great to see any kind of meditations helping one to connect with their higher power. I have a cassette recording of daily meditations like this and I don’t know what I will do when that little 20 year old tape finally gives out. Again thanks so much for your podcasts.
Laurie
You are very welcome, Laurie. We have had so many requests for a inner child guided meditation that I am working on the idea.
We appreciate your taking the time to comment. Best wishes, Mary
My parents passed away tragically last year and I learned about your website at a support group. I have only done 2 podcast meditations but I hope to make them part of my life daily in order to repair my mind and body from the tragedy of loss at age 22.
We are so sorry to hear about your loss, Macy, and hope the meditations bring some comfort and relief. It’s wonderful that you are in a support group. We wish you well, Mary
Hello and thank you. I was looking for a decent site of this nature for a while. I was wondering (even though it is not the end goal) if you could create something that took me out of my mind for a while. Escape is not the goal of meditation but never the less I think I need to on occasion. I was looking for somehting that I could focus on completely. I enjoyed the “letting go” podcast very much but just as an example I am looking for something that facilitates the same feeling through the exact opposite process. I hope I made at least a nominal amount of sense. Thanks again.
Hi Dennis,
Can you explain what you mean by “the exact opposite process”? That might help me answer this…
Mary
I spend my summers working in China and I often have trouble falling asleep while there. Your guided meditations are the only “sleep aid’ I’ve used that have worked! Mary’s voice soothes me like no other sound and even if I don’t fall asleep every time, I’m fully relaxed by podcast’s end. Thank you so much!
You are so welcome, Bee! What a wonderful benefit from the meditations. It’s inspiring to hear from you.
Hi Mary,
I just wanted to thank you for the podcasts available on your site. I have recently started my own company and have experienced tremendous stress and pressure resulting in negativity, low energy levels and general lack of positive thinking.
Since I am meditating daily using your Guided Meditations I have seen a HUGE improvement in all areas: health, success, happiness etc etc.
Thank you so much for helping me learn how to bring my thoughts to a halt, feel grounded and experience what is ‘there’; allowing the energy to flow freely once again.
Your voice is very calming as well…
Thanks once again for sharing with so many people this wonderful gift!
Kind regards
Jaco
Thank YOU, Jaco, for sharing your experience with meditation. It’s amazing, isn’t it, how meditation can affect every area of life. I’m inspired to hear what a difference it made and you are very welcome!
I am very grateful for your guided meditations. I can’t adequately articulate how they quiet my mind and the restful peace I experience. Thank you!
You are welcome, John. It is difficult to articulate our experiences in meditation — glad you’re experiencing the quietness and peace.
[...] It’s time for healing in America after the frenzy. It’s time to sit back and think where we are and who we are (before we obsess about where we need to go). It’s time for the insults to subside. It’s time to close your eyes and feel your heart again…to feel your breathing…to feel your mind relax. It’s time to spend a little time with Mary. [...]
Re: Ballot Closed. Matches blog post linking here sounds like good advice for those of us who were so caught up in the election. I think we’re all gradually unwinding. It’s good to unplug for awhile…
Thanks so much Mary for your calming voice. I listen to you each night as I go to sleep, here in Melbourne Australia
You are welcome, Helena. It’s fun to hear from people all over the world. Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment!
I keep having deja vu is there a type of meditation that can help with me channeling this?
OH, I love the site.
Hi Brian,
Glad you’re enjoying the website. I’m not sure what you are asking — please describe your deja vu experience and also explain what you mean by channeling it.
hi mary,
just wanted to say that i think it’s beautiful work you are doing with this site and your podcasts. meditation is a wonderful gift i have recently received into my life and it’s helped a great deal with stress, anxiety, etc. Many thanks to you for sharing with us.
I feel so awesome after visiting this site and hearing your guided meditations. Thank you for being a beacon of positive energy in the world. Also, the Trust meditation is wonderful, it really helps to soothe any chaffed or raw areas within my energy body.
Happy New Year from sunny FL.
You are welcome, Erin. Thank you for your kind words. Good to hear that you are meditating and getting such great results!
Dear Meditationoasis,
WOW ! I listen to your guided meditations regularly and love them. This morning, however, I listend to the “Relaxing into Healing” selection and was completely washed over with love. Thank you for all that you do for the people in this world.
Sincerely,
Lance, Tampa. Fl
You are welcome, Lance. How beautiful to hear this — you just washed us over with love!
Just wanted to say keep up the good work. I’ve found your meditations to be a very good way to help me disconnect from the stresses of daily life and get a moment of peace. You seem to have a unique ability to appeal to both those very experienced in meditation and those that are newer to it (like myself). Keep using your gift, I know you are helping a lot of people like me.
Thank you for your kind words, Brett. We’re so glad the meditations are helping. Hearing from people like you does inspire us to continue!
Thank you for your kindness to others through these podcasts. The gentle way you voice guides the listener through the meditations sounds so safe and trustworthy. I particularly love the Chakra meditation and the healing meditation. Thank you.
Thank you for leaving a comment, Jacinta. You are very welcome. I really appreciate your feedback.
I followed the inner child meditation and experienced a profound resolution to something I have carried unknowingly for decades. I am very grateful to you both for helping me. Thank you.

You are so welcome, Richard. We’re pleased that you had such a profound experience. Certainly your own openness allowed that to happen. Thank you for taking the time to share this with us. We wish you all the best.
I want to thank you very much for your podcasts. I discovered you on iTunes and am just getting started in meditation. The last one on there is 12/18/08. Will more be posted on there?
Thank you and peace and love to you and yours.
Andy
You’re welcome, Andy. Yes, there will be more podcasts. Our hope has always been to add a new podcast each month, but we haven’t always been able to do it. Thanks for the nudge — hopefully you’ll see a new one real soon!
Also, it’s always valuable to use the meditations more than once. If there are certain ones that work best for you, you can use them over and over. The repetition has a great value as the principles of the meditation sink in. Your experience will also be different each time you listen.

Could you do a meditation for dealing with anger? I just went through a divorce (and have done the grief meditation several times), but I just can’t get past the anger.
Otherwise, your meditations have been very helpful.
Hi Martha,
Thank you for your request. I’ll certainly consider this.
I think that what makes it difficult to “get past” anger is that we are trying to get rid of it. It’s the trying to get past it that can get in the way of its being fully felt. Perhaps the Emotional Ease meditation would be helpful.
Hi Mary,
Just a quick question: are your meditations still available through iTunes?
Hope this finds you well and happy,
Nicole
Yes, our Meditation Oasis podcast is on iTunes. Our CDs are also available for purchase on iTunes as mp3 downloads.
Dear Mary,
Thank you so much for your podcasts! I have tried MANY meditation podcasts on iTunes and I must say your is one of the best and certainly at the top of my listening list. Your voice is incredibly soothing and I have found relief and peace in your guided meditations time and time again. What a wonderful gift! Thank you for taking the time and courage to share your wonderful ability with us! Much love from Denmark
You are welcome, Valentina. I’m so glad the meditations are helping. We love hearing from people all over the world. Thank you for adding a comment!
Dear Mary,
Love the sound of your calm voice and guided meditations. Incredibly relaxing and healing. You have truly made a positive impact on my life with your podcasts. Many blessings and many thanks!
Blessings to you too, PammyPie, and you are welcome!
thank you mary for this wonderfull meditation i am 19 and am still going to school. With all the stress from school and all your podcasts opened my eyes to how i should pay attention to life and nature. I would like to make a request could you please do a podcast on school stress? thanks for all that you do you have realy opend my eyes to things i would not have seen had you not been here to help people.
You are welcome, christina. A podcast on school stress is a good idea. I have many other requests and am not sure when this would be done. In the meantime, you can try using the meditations below to help cope with stress — they apply to any kind of stress (school, work, life events, etc).
Relaxation Break
Breath Awareness
Simply Being
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have been meditating now for nearly 4 years after years of physical and emotional stress. Your meditations are wonderful and I have sent your link to my very sick sister, hoping they will help her as well.
I have found that meditation and the power of positive thought has changed my life drastically for the good and I have people like you to thank for it. So THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. Peace and Love, Janet
You’re welcome, Janet, Good to hear from you and hear how much you are benefiting from meditation. Best wishes to you!
Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful meditations. I have CFIDS and find it hard not to overdo things, so to be able to plug into your meditations is a gift.
thanks
I’m so glad the meditations are helping, Andrea. You are very welcome!
I just did your chakra meditation and it was like drinking an energy drink. I had been sleepy but after doing that meditation I felt wide awake.
Your meditations are awesome! Thank you so much. I feel totally relaxed. Beautiful voice, beautiful music!
You are so welcome, Tina. Glad you enjoyed the meditations.
Thank you, Mary for the wonderful meditations. I listen to one almost every day, and usually manage to select one that meets my needs on a particular day.
I wanted to suggest a meditation on trying to be less intense or rigorous. I, and I’m sure many others, tend to operate at 110% all the time, even on tasks that don’t need so much effort. I expend a lot of energy this way. I think the effortlessness meditation helps, but more on this theme would be wonderful.
You are welcome, Cindy — glad you are enjoying and making such good use of the meditations. This is a really interesting idea for a meditation — no promises but I’ll definitely spend some time with it and see if I can come up with something!
I stumbled across your site a couple of days ago and impressed with what I have read.
I tried the Breath Awareness Meditation and found it easy to relax and follow but as I became more relaxed I felt sort of disoriented and like I was a bit lightheaded and kind of slipping to the right….which actually I wasn’t….. I was sitting upright in a straight backed chair. It was a kind of airy fairy sort of feeling that actually wasn’t that pleasant so I didnt continue after your voice stopped. Is this normal for a first meditation?
Hello Helen,
All sorts of experiences can come up as we meditate, and if any are uncomfortable, you can always stop, as you did. As the body relaxes and tensions unwind, the body can feel like it’s leaning or moving even when it isn’t. As for the lightheaded and airy fairy feeling — that could be some tension release but in that you were doing the Breath Awareness Meditation, it’s also possible that it had to do with how you were breathing. Remember that in the meditation you aren’t meant to breathe in any special way, simply observe the breath as it is naturally happening. You could try the meditation again with this in mind and see if it still happens. You could also try another basic meditation like Simply Being and see how that goes.

Thank you for your wonderful meditations. I listen to them every day. I would love to have one from you that focuses on fertility and conception. Is there any chance that you will have one in this area?
Thank you.
You are welcome, Annalora. Thank you for the request. This has been requested before and I am considering it. Best wishes.
Hello Mary Maddux,
I’m so thankful for your wonderful meditations and I’m listening to some of them nearly every day. Your voice is very calming, too, thank you very much for sharing this gift. I’m listening the potcasts on I tunes. Sometimes it is not so easy to let resistance go, isn’t it? But I love your meditations and try to let go each new day again:-)
Greetings and blessings from Germany,
Claudia
Thank you for taking the time to comment, Claudia. I’m sure many people feel it’s difficult to let go of resistance. In a way, it’s something we can’t actually do. We can’t get rid of resistance, it comes up on its own. It’s part of our conditioning. What we can do, sometimes, is recognize the resistance when it arises and in that recognition it can be let go of. If it doesn’t happen, if resistance comes up again, doesn’t matter. Let it be OK that the resistance is there!
You are welcome for the meditations. I’m glad you are making such good use of them!
Thank you so much for all these wonderful meditations! They are so helpful when I don’t have as much time to just sit and are a wonderful addition to my practice!
So glad you are enjoying the meditations, Amy. You are welcome!
Thank You for such wonderful meditations, and presented to us so well. This site will be most helpful. Could I link your site from mine please?
You are welcome, Brenda. Of course, we’d be happy to have you link to us!
thank you so much for putting up these meditations when ever i feel upset or stressed out i listien to your podcasts and i feel wonderful thanks so much this helps me alot. the other question i have is why do you put up these medditations? how did you get into meditating? why did you make a website on this?
christina, you are welcome. We’re so glad the podcasts help.
I’ll see if I can answer these questions. You’re the first to ask these and I’m touched that you are interested enough to ask. Except for a very few times when I’ve had jobs just to make money, I’ve always done what I really cared and had a passion about. Everything has been in the area of meditation, healing, and wellness. As I’ve explored things for myself, I’ve naturally wanted to share them with others. All of my teaching, writing and so on has simply been an expression of this. I got into meditation early on — both because I felt there was “more to life” than what I was experiencing and also because I really needed to meditate! My brother told me about it and I tried it and have meditated most of my life.
The meditations, the podcast, the website — everything I do and have done — is what I love to do. I love to create, write, express, share. I’ve always worked with people in one way or another — as a teacher and counsellor and in other ways. I love to connect with others in a meaningful way.
The other side is that I’ve been fortunate enough to make a living doing what I love (a humble living but it’s worth it!) My life and business interests are inseparable. My work grows out of my life very naturally. So there’s also a business side — we also make a living by people buying our CDs, downloading our MP3s, etc. Some people also make donations as well.
Hope that answers your question. Thanks for asking. BTW, I do think these answers would go for Richard too. He’s the other, very important, half of this work!

Thank you so much for your wonderful Meditations. I am from Australia and have been introduced to Meditation very recently. I listen on my IPOD each night or when i feel like it and after 3 weeks i am beginning to notice huge effects and it is wonderful. Everything in the podcasts go together great. Your Meditations have helped me get passed one of the most difficult times in my life and for that i will be forever grateful to you.
Carly, you are so welcome. It’s really heart-warming to hear from you — we’re so glad the meditations have been helping. Best wishes.
Namaste. Thank you so much for the enriching meditations. I have had problems with high blood pressure and the relaxing meditations have physically helped! I meditated to the Chakra episode (I’m just becoming attuned to my Chakras) and felt a physical warm glow from deep inside…energy. Peace and Inner Light.
This is inspiring to hear, Grant! You are welcome.
Thank you so much for offering this for free, your voice is soo soothing and the music accompanies this perfectly, bless you.

Hi! I have been using your wonderful podcasts for a little over a year now and they have showed me the path to presence and true meditation. I have an irrational fear that sometimes gives me panic attacks. I plan on getting exposure thearepy this year. But untill then, I find that when the situation that makes me panic arises, I feel the opposite of calm, uncomfortable, like I want to escape, and then there are strong feelings of being alone and ashamed for feeling that way. I am going to calm myself down tonight by listening to your “Breath Awareness” meditation, but it occured to me that there are probably many many other people who have panic attacks and thought that if I brought that to your attention, perhaps you would consider a meditation for feeling safe, comforted, perhaps with some breath-coaching to subdue panic attacks. Thank you so much for how much you’ve helped me this year!
Deborah, we’re so pleased that you’ve gotten so much from the podcasts. Yes, many people have requested something for anxiety, fear and panic. I felt that I wanted to do something more comprehensive than a podcast episode for this, and am currently working on a whole program. It does involve working with the breath as well as other ways to deal with anxiety. Thanks for asking — it helps to keep me on track with that project. Seems like it’s much needed!
thank you for the new podcast…it is a beautiful journey inwards which you both make worthwhile.can you have more of richards music podcasts possibly.
nadiya
You are welcome, nadiya. We’re glad you’re enjoying the latest podcast. It was meant to be a journey inwards and it’s good to hear it was that for you.
Don’t know if we’ll do another podcast of Richard’s music. Just so you know, you can purchase a CD or download of an album of Richard’s music — Pure Light. It’s a compilation of background music from the podcast and our other CDs.
Thank you so very much for letting everyone download your meditaion podcasts for free. I love your podcasts and they have gotten me through many stressful times. Your podcasts have allowed me to destress and quiet my mind. They have made all the difference in my life. They have made me a better mother, wife and employee at my job. I can’t thank you enough for changing my life.

hey i suffer from real bad anxiety especially when i have a test coming up and that would be tomorrow. so i listen to you the night before and an hour or so before the test to help calm me. and it’s funny bc my nursing test tomorrow involves therapeutic communication. any suggestions for me? thanks so much
Hi Andrew,
I’m not sure what you are asking, but it sounds like a good plan to listen to a meditation the night before and then before the test. Other than that, it helps to stop and take some deep breaths when anxious and you could always pause a few times during the test and close your eyes and breathe.
Thank you so much for your podcast; the ease it has brought to my life is beyond measure!
Nicole
You are welcome, Nicole. We’re so glad to hear that!
I attended an AA meeting today and we discussed meditation. Someone mentioned that they try to “go with the flow”, i.e. putting one’s boat in the water and going DOWN-stream* (as opposed to how most alcoholics go: UP-stream). Anyway, I came home from the meeting and put some words into Google and up popped your site. What a BLESSING it is. I figure the only way you can have such a calm voice is to also have a calm spirit. Thanks for sharing both with us so freely!
(*By the way, this person also shared that ALL she needs is down-stream. I would add that much of what I want is up-stream!!! No wonder I experience stress)
Glad you found us, Bill. You are welcome! I’d be interested in how you define going down- vs. up-stream in your life. Perhaps all we ever really need is downstream…
Dear you,
Thank you so much for all these splendid and beautiful free meditations. Since using them, I can effortlessly meditate every day!
Marc
How wonderful, Marc! You are welcome.
Hi Mary,
Thanks to Google, I found your website. I have been using your guided meditations for about 2 weeks now. What a gift! Thank you for making these available.
You are welcome, Karen!
Dear Mary and Richard
I have been using your podcasts for 5 months now and find them so relaxing and convenient. Thank you both for making these available all over the world. (I’m based in Australia and travel frequently).

Hi. Thank you so much for your wonderful meditations. They are a great asset to our lives. I have a question, and forgive me if it’s been asked before. I have a strong desire to meditate but after a few sessions I find myself being extremely short tempered and irritable. I become very sensitive to noise as well. Is this a normal side effect when beginning meditation? Does it go away with enough sessions, or is it my senses opening up to the world where I had previously shut things out? I would love to continue meditating, but I don’t think my family could stand to be around me if I did. Any answer would be so greatly appreciated. Thank you again.
Hello Toni, you are welcome. It’s hard to say for sure what is going on, but I’ll start with one possibility and if we rule that out, let’s investigate it further. It’s possible that you are coming out of meditation too fast. If you are deep in meditation, you need to take time to come out slowly (even a couple of minutes sometime). Otherwise, it can be jarring to the system to come out quickly.
See if this is what is going on. If not, we’ll look into other explanations.
Thank you ! Thank you ! Thank you! I so need this. Your voice is amazingly soothing.
You are very welcome, Bridey!
This is fantastic! I have been using the deep rest guided meditation, and I have been getting the best, most uninterrupted sleep of my life. I have AD/HD, so I rarely am able to turn off my brain enough to relax and sleep without my brain reeling. I have been waking up on time for work as well which has always been a struggle for me.
I am trying to make more of an effort towards self improvement, so I will be further investigating the other meditations on here.
Also, would an Android app possibly be in the future? That would be amazing!
Thank you so much!
What good news, Alicia. We do hope to create an Android app at some point in the future, but that may not be for quite awhile. Good luck with your self improvement efforts – may they bring you well-being and fulfillment.
Thank you so much for your kind gentle voice and soothing music. the meditations have helped me greatly in my daily life…..you are a blessing to all…..
PS. in response to Toni Jan 10
could I suggest saying a protective prayer before you start the meditations..I have also found this has happened to me. Also placing a protective sphere of light around you when you have finished the meditations. I hope this helps.
Thankyou Nadine
You are welcome, and thank you for your kind words, Nadine. Glad the meditations are helping.
hello mary and the crew
i have been trying your meditations out(inner child and grounded) for quite some time now.
these are really fantastic, and the inner child one heals at all levels.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience, nihal. Best wishes.
I have schizophrenia and I’m totally distressed by side effects from meds (impotence/fsd) these are brilliant.
Hellow an i hope you are doing Fine. I listened only one podcast. Today i just dowloaded 4 more. The one i ´ve listening is i think the one about “simply Being”. I usually use it when i go to sleep, but i have never finished it because the voice is so calming that it helps me sleep.
What is the power in all this podcasts?. At first i didn´t think these work, but congrats.
Glad the meditations are helping you, luis. I really don’t know how to answer the question “what is the power in…the podcasts”. It is possible that you find my voice relaxing because I get into a very relaxed state when I speak. Hearing that in my voice may help relax you.
I am experiencing in the past few years a great amount of heat in my hands, arms and my body thro’ out Also some thing on my tongue, maybe an energy of some sort. I am aware of it on my tongue, whether my mouth is open or closed.
I would very much appreciate your thoughts and guidance on the above .
Thanking you in anticipation,
Mise le meas,
Seamus Hargadon.

Seamus, Is this happening during meditation only?
Hellow Mary. First of all , i would like to say that your voice is very calming. Thanks for all your help on this “inside journey”. My question today is this. What happens when in your dreams you know you are dreaming and you start meditating in the dreams. I few minutes later, it seems like you are awake but not totally (like sleepy), and somehow you see a bright light and keep meditating too. It had happen to me very often, and is a great feeling.
Is this real?, what is real?.(sorry if a dont explain it well)
Thanks againg for given us “the inside Journey”
luis Gabriel – There are different “states of consciousness” that we experience. For example, sleep and dream state are different than waking state. There are also “meditative states” which are different than those common states of consciousness, where the mind is functioning in a different way — there is a combination of the depth of sleep and yet alertness. It sounds like during your dream, you begin to experience a meditative state. I am not an expert on brain waves or all the states of consciousness we can experience, so I can’t say exactly what is happening.
This experience raises the questions you ask — “Is this real? What is real?”. Those are big questions and I don’t think there’s an answer to those that everyone could agree on. I’m inspired, though, to write a blog post about this and will in the near future. It’s too big a question to cover here!
And, you are welcome. Hope you continue to enjoy your “inside journey”!
I love the podcast Deep Rest Guided Meditation. I wasn´t sure that this works, specially because i dont hace sleepoing problems. But what i have been experiencing is awsome. The podcast is for 25 minutes, but sometimes i dont make it all. Some times i start dreaming and i hear your lovely voice in my dream. By the time you said thar you are going to keeep the music going on… is when some times my mind is in a diffenent state… is when i am dreaming but also awake…
i am starting to listen the podcast “Enhance your creativity” in the morning and see how it goes. Thanks for helping me this inside journey… I once read that ” To live outside , you must first enjoy living in the “inside”.
Bye.. By the end of the week i will let you know more “inside journeys”
Beautiful, luis!
Thank you so much for these meditations! I watched this video on youtube that rather upset me and well i did one of your meditations and felt so much better. Thanks i am so thankful someone out there cares enough about me in order to help me feel better. I will use this website more often i like to meditate and i will continue to do it in the future thanks Mary and Richard you guys are the best people i have ever ran across on the internet.
christina, We’re so glad the meditations helped! You are welcome, and thank you for your kind words.
Hello Mary,
I have done all sorts of guided meditations, but i experience something very significant with your meditations.
In all other voices i still ‘sense’ a direction of becoming, even if they say otherwise, but in your voice i sense simply being.
Nothing to do, nothing to become, just being.
I have never heard that elsewhere.
I still can’t grasp it, it’s like falling into something wich scares me also.
I am a ‘doing’ guy and not-doing is like the whole ground is swept away under my feet.
But i really like your soothing voice and your meditations.
I do not know where they will take me, but i will listen to it some more.
Thank you very much.
greetings from the Netherlands.
Adinatha, You are very welcome.
It sounds like you are having a very deep experience with the meditations. It can indeed feel like the “whole ground is swept away”. It can be both delicious and scary at the same time! It isn’t something you can grasp with your mind, because your awareness is transcending the mind’s functioning. You fall into a deeper level of yourself where the doing is coming from. It turns out the ‘doing’ guy has his basis in Being!

So glad to hear that, karla. You are welcome!
I cant believe it. For an entire hour my mind was almost completely silent. I have not experienced this since the onset of my disorder being almost a decade ago. Medication has helped tremendously, but your “effortless meditation” was a temporary final step towards bringing me back to where I was before the (crap) started. I have also tried other guided meditation programs from other people. They were effective, but they did not give me this silence that yours did. What CD do you recommend that is similar to your “effortless meditation” podcast, one that helps bring someone into a silent state of mind?
Hi Bob. Probably the best meditations for this are on our Silence of Being album. It is available as an mp3 download in our Shop. i say “probably” because different things work best for different people. There are a number of meditations on the podcast that might work best for you. The Silence of Being album, however, is geared for experiencing silence and has a progression of meditations with more and less voice guidance.
Mary,
My mom had subscribed to this podcast on iTunes and raved about it, so, reluctantly, I listened to one with her and ended up falling in love with it! I couldn’t resist finding myself drifting into such a calm state listening to your soothing voice. I like to listen to these as I get lie in bed, and it helps me fall asleep faster and easier than anything else, and the sleep I’m getting seems much deeper and more restful. These guided meditations are also rubbing off on my daily life: I am much more able to “take things as they come” and not stress as much over them. While this is a slow process, it is steady. Even this headstrong teenager can’t help but enjoy the benefits of these podcasts! Thank you so much for all the reasons above, and for giving my mom and I something we can share.
Katie, great that you were open to trying the meditations even though your mom suggested them
. It’s true, using the meditations regularly does make changes in how you experience things in a daily basis. So good to hear from you. All the best to you!
Hi Mary Have come across this website and have been using your meditations for some time. Then, just last week in fact, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I am remaining positive, and your meditations certainly help me a lot.
I was wondering if you would ever consider making one available that could be longer than the ones you have here on your site – like a guided one or a white light healing one – just a suggestion. As I said, I am gaining benefit from the ones you have available on this page.
Kind regards
Kathleen, Australia
Kathleen, sorry to hear about your diagnosis and we wish you a speedy and full recovery. Some of the meditations are 25 mins or more. How long did you have in mind? You might want to use the Intuitive Self-Healing Meditation and continue on with the process a while after the voice stops. Best wishes.
Dear Mary, I just wanted to thank you for your meditations. They have been a great help to me in the last few months.I have been separated from someone I love and the letting go and the just be meditations are a great help to me,although I like all of them and your voice is so soo soothing. You are a wonder!

Thank you so much for these pod casts. I am grateful for them.
You are welcome!
Thank you so much for making these available. I have them on my mp3 player and on days that I can, I park my car in an empty parking lot and listen to them on my lunch break. I listen to whichever one I feel fits my day best. I’ve been using them for about 2 years now and they have helped reduce my anxiety and deal with whatever is going on in a much more sensible way. I’ve learned that my anxiety is simply my brain thinking too much and I just need to shut it off and put it away once in a while to “reset” things. Even just 15 minutes or so is enough to take the edge off. Some days I have a good experience, some days I just can’t seem to loosen up enough to “turn off”, but that’s OK. I find that a lot of times I just fall asleep, which is OK too. Just wanted to let you know that your podcasts have helped take the edge off. Thank you lots!
This is so good to hear, Jim. You are welcome. It’s so true that meditation can be very different on different days, but even when you don’t seem to be turning off, you mind and body are being given a break. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Hi Mary, i just want to say thank you so much for your free podcasts, i am a very emotional person filled with hate , anger and anxiety i wish i could say your meditations have perminantley takn them away bt they havne not but i can say it has helped me to learn to control these problems.
Thanks for all your help
God Bless
Daryl
Hi Daryl, it’s great that the meditations are helping. You see that the situation can get better, and so it can certainly improve even more. Keep on meditating! You are welcome and we wish you well.
Hi, could you please put the RSS feed back in for your medidations? I used to be able to download these directly to my zune without any problem, but now that seems to be gone. Dont want an Ipod just for these.
Thanks,
Brett

Hi Mary,
I’ve been using your guided meditations for about a year now and have wanted to write to tell you how wonderful they are. Every once in awhile I try different ones that I find but they are not like yours. I very much appreciate you making them available. They are changing my life.
Thank you again.
Kathy
Kathy, I am always in awe, and very grateful, when people say their lives are changing with the meditations. You are so very welcome.
I wanted to thank you for all the encouraging words that start and end my days, pushing me to reflect, grow and share. I have undergone some tough transitions in the last few years, but your calming, sage guidance helps me every step forward. I hope you will continue to feature the podcasts, as they have become an integral part of my life. Thank you, Katerine
You are welcome, Katerine. It is so inspiring to hear this! Best wishes.
I am a combat infantry soldier in the US Army dealing with bouts of PTSD and symptoms of depression. Sleep is restless and my days are filled with anxiety and hyper alertness developed on the battlefield but does nothing to help back in the real world. My therapist turned me on to this website and I want to say that with your guided meditations, I can finally find that peace and rest that has eluded me for so long. Thank you so much.
Theodore, you are so very welcome and thank YOU for your service. We are so moved that the meditations are helping you and appreciate that you took the time to let us know. We wish you all the best.
Hi Mary:
I love your podcasts very much, I think you are very talented and good at what you do. I have a suggestion. I would like to know if it is possible to make a podcast on self forgiveness. When we feel guilty or bad about something we have done in our lives, or choices we have taken and so on.
Thank you,
Sarah
You are welcome, Sarah. Good idea for a meditation – I’ll add it to the list of requests.
Mary & Richard
I have been using your meditations for a few months now and they have helped me through a couple of very stressful situations in my life. I have passed the link to your website onto a couple of friends who have also had great results. Thank-you so much, these meditations are wonderful!

Nicola, you are very welcome. We’re so glad the meditations are helping. Best wishes to you.
Hello!
Thank you so much for your website! I think it is more valuable than a lot of sites that are charging ridiculous amounts of money for meditation materials. It is so wonderful for you to provide it!
I am wondering if I can give the MP3s directly to my therapy clients, or do I need to direct them to the website.
Thanks again, and peace to you!
Brian
Brian, you are welcome. You can feel free to share mp3s from the podcast with your clients in any way you wish. We only request that you not alter them in any way. (We’d rather that people not share the mp3s which are purchased on the website — we can’t give everything away!)
thank you from Turkiye, istanbul for these mp3.
I do lots of meditation, i want to thank you for giving us these beautiful meditations,i really like the ambient sounds in the back its really relaxing.
You are welcome, mehtap!
You are so welcome, Bruce.
I’m hoping to be the first to use this space in 2011 to wish you a Happy New Year and to thank you both wholeheartedly for the love and effort you have put into this site! I have only just discovered it after a year of more or less regular meditation practice following retirement. I think I am quite choosy but I have found your guided meditations perfect for my needs. Please keep up the good work!
Martin – from London
15 January 2011
Happy New Year to you, Martin! I often think of meditation as a way of retiring. How wonderful to take this up after your retirement. We’re glad you’re enjoying the meditations and we do plan on continuing…
Dear Mary,
I am so grateful for your guided meditations. You have given me a powerful coping mechanism for stress.
Thank you for helping myself and others find peace. It is incredible that you offer the meditations for free.
You are very welcome, Ana. Glad the meditations are helping!
Hey i just wanted to say thank you for all of your guided meditations they have really helped me to be a better person and to achieve my goals and to clear my mind when things become hectic. Thank you so much. you don’t know how much your podcast has changed my life and for that i say thank you again.
How wonderful, Adam, that you’ve gotten such great results from meditation. You are so very welcome!
Dear Mary,
I’m a college student at a very rigorous school, and I cannot say how much your podcast has helped. It took me awhile to find a podcast that combined not only a soothing voice but music that accented that voice well. Such a blessing to have found Meditation Oasis!
However, I do have an idea for a podcast: as women (Charlie is, in this case, a woman’s name :] ), we face particular pressures in the world. Sometimes the experiences of life as a woman can compromise our self confidence, ability to be agents of change in our own lives, and our ability to love ourselves and others without reserve or abandon in a sometimes advantageous or seemingly apathetic world. I’d love to see a meditation focusing on female strength, even in a subtle way.
Many thanks,
Charlie
You are so welcome, Charlie. Being a student IS stressful and we’re so glad the podcast is helping. I will add this suggestion to the list of requests. This is a great idea!!!!
What a beautiful resource — my girl and I fall asleep to your meditations almost nightly. Thank you so much for providing such an abundance of peace for no cost. Your lack of capitalistic attitude is telling of who you are
What sweet words, Aaron. You are very welcome.
Thank you so much for these podcasts! What a discovery.
You are so welcome, Ken. Hope you enjoy your ongoing discovery through meditation!
Mary, is it unusual to sob/cry during a meditation? In the Gratitude meditation you ask us to imagine our blessings and immediately I thought of my children, which brought on the tears out of nowhere! Also, during the mini break meditation, I found that my head naturally rotated counter clockwise without effort. Thanks!
Tammy, you are welcome. It’s not at all unusual to cry during meditation. Emotions can surface during the deep relaxation of meditation, and certainly gratitude is a powerful energy. As for your head rotating, this could be due to a release of tension. You might be interested in this blog post — Body Movements in Meditation. Best wishes.

Thank you so much. As someone who’s had anxiety issues since early childhood this is a great resource. I’ve taken Ativan and all sorts of drugs. Sure they work for the moment but they don’t get to the source of the problem. I’m recommending this to everyone I know. I think some of the best advise I’ve gotten from your podcasts is to just feel my emotions and be with them. When someone tells me to relax and just let the feeling go, I stress out because I can’t! So thanks for putting all this up for free.
You are so welcome, Anya. It’s great to hear the meditations are helping. It’s true, a really big key is allowing the emotions to be there and be felt. We do also have a special program for anxiety — At Ease – Anxiety & Worry Relief. It does cost money, but you might be interested. It’s available as an iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad app (most economical) and as a program on the website. Best wishes.
hi mary. have you heard of sedona method. it tells us that we are not our mind, thoughts beliefs. All the labels e.g. “anxiety” fear grief etc , thats a trap that we put ourselves in. however our divinity allows us to play those labels because otherwise how else will we come to learn our divinity(without suffering)
sedona method very similar to your meditation. basically we are far beyond all those labels.
re: Anya- have a look at sedona method. it tells us all our past anxieties problems, they are just that – past incidents. if we look at our present moment, awareness, there isn’t any of that, its an old story.
nihal.
I really enjoyed your meditations. I suffer with anxiety. I really do believe these are going to be great for me. I was wondering if & how I could load these to my computer?
Glad you’re enjoying the meditations, Tammy. We just added instructions for downloading them on the page above (after the last podcast episode). Let us know if you need more information!
Thank you very much.Your voice has a dramatic effect on my whole being.I am so gratefull!!!And also thank you for the inspiration and determination that you display and provoke by making this project happen!
thank you for thesepodcasts and guided meditations. They have helped me so much during a period of painful events in my life. I still use them every day.
I have had fibromyalgia for years now and I have searched many avenues to relieve my pain and stress levels! And Mary let me say you and your husband have brought that to me through your meditations! I have never felt so good as I do after using one of your podcast! I do still have pain, but no where near what it has been! So Thankyou so much for helping me and others like me for everything you do here at Meditation Oasis! P.S. Would it be possible to make a podcast especially for chronic pain disorders such as mine? Many Blessings and Thanks
Wendy, so glad the meditations are helping and you are very welcome. I assume you’ve tried the Beyond Pain meditation which is specifically for pain. Our hope is to one day do a smartphone app for pain which would have several approaches. Best wishes.
Hi Mary -
I want to thank you so much for these meditations. My mother has ovarian cancer and has recently been admitted to a Hospice. She is nearing the end of her wonderful life, but she is facing this with courage and dignity.
I have introduced her to your meditations and she now listens to them almost every day. She particularly enjoys ‘breathing from the heart’ and ‘effortless’. With tears she told me to make sure I let you know how much comfort your voice and meditations have brought her.
We have noticed she has really been able to breath much easier when sleeping since listening to your meditations.
Thank you for providing this comfort to my mother and me.
Jason
Jason, please give my love and best wishes to your mother. I worked in hospice for a number of years and also accompanied my mother in her dying journey. I am moved to read that the meditations are helping your mother so much. To both of you — you are very, very welcome!
Hello, I am enjoying your meditations. Thank you for making them available to everyone.
Recently when I meditate (feeling the body) I experience a surge of energy within me. It starts off quite quickly as a sort of vibrating feeling all over my body but becomes more intense until it becomes unbearable and I have to move. It has made me reluctant to meditate as it is very uncomfortable and I’ve never experienced this sort of thing. I also feel more anxiety/fear within me. I can’t help but feel I need to get to the other side of this experience to overcome all this anxiety which has built up in me but I’m scared to feel it again because it is so incredibly powerful I feel like I will explode.
What should I do?
Maria, there isn’t a simple answer to this. You can read the blog post, Sensing Energy in Meditation, to get some explanation of the phenomenon or energy moving. Since this energy moving is so intense, it’s possible you need to meditate less for awhile, either less time or less often, so it happens more slowly. Also, if when you feel the experience in meditation is too intense, you can open your eyes to bring your attention out and come out of the meditation. Take time to come out slowly. Also, you have the anxiety to deal with, and if that doesn’t become less by meditating less and so on, then you might want to get some extra support with your anxiety. We do have a program on the website (also an app) called At Ease which might help, but if it’s strong anxiety that makes you really uncomfortable or interferes with you daily activity, it might be best to seek some counseling for it. Best wishes, Mary

Been dealing with the loss of a 5 yr relationship and the sudden return from Canada to the UK after 17 years, other than dealing with the loss of the love of my life and best friend, i lost my job and home also in the same week and had to return to family here (it’s been 6 weeks now since my return), i feel lost, broken and futureless, i want to go back to Canada but do not have the strength to attempt it even though there are friends there that will help me get on my feet, downloaded a couple of episodes and will listen this evening, i really hope it can help me as i feel completely useless
Hope the meditations help, bobby. Sounds like you are grieving. You might want to try the Guided Meditation for Grief in the podcast. You’ve had a lot of loss. Also, you can read a bit about grief on our other website. Best wishes.

For years I have felt like I have a cry in my heart. I recently found out that this was comming from my heart chakra. What can I do to make feel better? Also I sent an earlier e-mail but I had the wrong address. Please disregard it and send your reply to this address. Thanking you in advance.
Michael A. Creed
Michael, it’s hard to say with so little information, but it sounds like unresolved grief. If it is grief, you won’t feel better until you can feel this feeling all the way. If you can feel it deeply (and probably you’ll need to cry), it may move through and resolve, but you may need to get some counseling or other support to help with this. Best wishes.
Mary I thank you so much for your help and prompt reply. I have seen alot of grief in my 60 years on this planet. I will take your advice to heart. Bless you Mary. Best wishes to you too!!
I am looking for a podcast about banishing negativity? I recently had a very hard time with a difficult personality at work and can’t seem to shake the residual feeling. Your podcasts always help to bring me back to being centered and feeling pure and positive again- I would love it if there was one themed around this kind of life situation.
I’M A PERSON WHO HAS HEADACHE SO OFTEN,WHICH MEDITATION,WOULD YOU RECOMEND TO ME TO RELIEVE THESE ANOYING HEADACHES?
sandra, try the Beyond Pain meditation on our Listen to Our Podcast page.
Thanks for the suggestion, Deborah. I’ll add it to the request list. Emotional Ease would be a good one for this situation. The residual feeling will gradually fade away if you don’t fight the feelings that the situation at work brought up.
Thank you so much, Mary! Your the best!
Thank you so much for your great work! I listen to your podcasts in my ipod. I absolutely love all of them. I was introduced to meditation a few months back as a pain management technique. I added your podcast to the meditation CD I was given by my therapist. It has made a huge difference. I would like to have a podcast about opening yourself to love and dating. Please keep this suggestion in mind for your future projects. Once again thank you so much for all the great mediations in your podcasts.
You’re welcome, Deborah!
You are very welcome, Julimar. I’m glad the podcast is so helpful to you. We’ll add this suggestion to our request list — thanks for making it.
Mary,
I came across your website yesterday and I cannot stay away!! I love what I have listened to so far in the podcast. I plan on adding your guided meditation to my meditation practice. I have slacked a bit on meditating this past summer because of being so busy, but I am making it a priority, and your episodes have really motivated me to want to start up again ASAP. Thanks so much!!
Kathy
You are so welcome, Kathy. I’ve heard it said — “if you’re too busy to meditate, you’re too busy”
It’s always hard starting a new habit, but it will be so worth it to meditate regularly! Best wishes.
Dear Mary,
I first started your meditations when I was put on bedrest for threatened preterm labor at 28 weeks. I listened to you every day. My baby stayed in until 41 weeks and is now a happy healthy 6 month old. Thank you so much. Without you, I believe he would have come out way before he was supposed to.
You are welcome, Delia, and thank YOU for sharing your experience with us. It’s wonderful to hear this feedback and your happy, healthy baby boy! Best wishes.

It’s wonderful that all your podcasts are free and accessible whenever I want. And they are quality meditations, as well.I believe that as long as I start my day with one of the meditations, I connect with the Universe right away, and have a better day. It’s hard to sit and meditate on our own, but you make it so much easier. Kudos to this site.
Good to hear, Eliya!
love your guided meditations! they help me with my adhd more then my meds.! , but do you have one for like concentration and or people with adhd! if you could make one that would be a great help! thanks!
celeste, glad the meditations are helping. You might try “Stillness, Stability and Balance” and “Body Awareness” meditations (in the podcast). They might be good for this.
which of these meditations would be appropriate for the loss of a loved one;those who are grieving?
Kathy, it’s helpful for someone to sample a few meditations (the ones to which they are drawn) and see what works best. Something simple like the Breath Awareness or Breath in the Heart would be good for someone new to meditation (or anyone for that matter). Also, the Guided Meditation for Grief has been helpful for many people. Emotional Ease also could be helpful.
Hello,
I want to thank your for the wellness and the healing you bring in my life. Today I found pain in my heart. I meditated on this and found a feeling of treason stock DEEP in my heart. It is painfull and there since few years.
Which podcast would you suggest to help this this black emotion vanish out of me ?
Julie, Emotional Ease and Body Awareness may help. If this has been there for a long time, it will probably take some time to gradually resolve. For emotional pain to go away, we need to feel it all the way so it can be released from the body. If this is causing you suffering in your daily life, you might want to seek counseling to get more support with it. Best wishes.
Dearest Mary,
Around two weeks ago, I was at my wits end with anxiety, depression, and anger. Over any little thing, I would be fuming with rage. I would hold all of this in so I would not hurt anyone’s feelings. I was going around feeling as if I was going to explode. I was under a lot of pressure from work and my husband being unemployed. I was having great difficulty concentrating on simple tasks. I knew I had to do something, so while I was researching the internet for relaxation techniques, I found your website. I downloaded several of your podcasts. I’ve been doing your guided meditations once or twice a day. Thank you so much for making your gift of healing readily available. Since, I started meditating, I have been so much calmer. I am able to think much more clearly and to concentrate better. I am so lucky, I found your website.
You are so welcome, Alicia. We’re so glad you found us and are so open to meditation. Thank you for sharing your story with us. It’s inspiring!
Mary,
Could you recommend a meditation for weight loss? Thank you.
Alicia, I’m not familiar with any meditations for weight loss, but there must be lots out there. It should help, though, to meditate regularly with any meditation that relaxes you and helps you release stress. That can help bring about balance on many levels. Good luck.
Just wanted to say thank you for such a wonderful resource. Fantastic to find this available to anyone interested in an open, friendly format. Keep up the great work!
Hi Mary,
I get get very anxious at times and a little worrier and was wondering which meditation would be best for me, I have been listening to Richard Maddox`s music for meditation & Music and listen to it at work and find that very calming as well.
Many thanks
Rita
You are welcome, Toowacka!
Rita, any of the podcast meditations that you find relaxing should help, but we also have a special program — At Ease — Anxiety & Worry Relief made especially for anxiety and worry. It provides a deeper, longer-lasting solution. You can get it from our Shop on the website, or if you have a smartphone, it’s available as an iPhone or Android application (also iPad).
Hello Mary
I would like to ask which disc as Music for Meditation & Relaxation on as I might have to buy the disc as I am unable to down your calming meditation and was listening to some and you have such a calming voice.
Rita
Rita, the podcast music, Music for Meditation & Relaxation, is on our Pure Relaxation CD, which also includes three guided meditations.
Hello Mary, Thank you so much for your meditation podcasts. I recommend them to all my English speaking patients here in Barcelona, Spain.

Thank you oh so much! I can think more clearly and sleep better and better as I practice with the gift of these podcasts. Now in my 50′s I wish I had discovered these tools so much earlier in life.
My deepest gratitude to you both!
Dave, you are so very welcome. Thank you for taking time to comment. It’s inspiring to hear from you.
Since I have been listening to the audios now for about a week, the black box of memory is opening up. So far, there are no events embedded in a linear context that have arisen, but just vague impulses to scream and cry, “Make it stop! Make it stop!”. This crying and screaming is absolutely inconsolable. I’ve listened to the Inner Child Meditation and Opening to Healing and a few others. The dyad of Child and Mother is knot of pure pain and terror and I don’t know how to untie it.
I know this sounds like an emergency. And it is. And I should be in Therapy, tho I have no access to quality therapy. I’m on public assistance and currently am allowed access to about 1 15 minute session a month. So, I rely on the internet for my support and free services such as yours for help and processing.
I want to tell you that I would not have been able to access this specific an image without your help and that this gives me something to tell people who are willing and able to help me, but have limited time and resources. Otherwise my pain and agony is just to big and too vague for anyone to take on.
Thank you. So much.
<3
Jennifer, first let me extend my sympathy for you pain. I’m so sorry to hear you don’t have therapy available to you as it does indeed sound like you need that support. I don’t know where you live, but I would encourage you to look into every possibility for some free professional help. You might even try calling some therapists to see if they have any suggestions for you — who knows maybe someone would offer it “pro bono” as attorneys sometimes do. And please discuss your situation with your physician.
I do want to caution you to pace yourself with the meditations so that not too much is coming up at once. It might be good to stop them when things feel too intense.
Hi, Mary.
Thank you. I don’t have much luck with Therapists, but I can try that. It has to be a good fit or it’s worse than nothing. My Doctors are all informed as much as necessary. It’s important to not merely pathologize this. There are potentials for spiritual awakening in this too. I don’t want anyone to shut that down for me as I believe that to be my only real hope of release short of death.
I’m also absurdly careful with my meds. Too careful. I suffer more than is necessary by trying to tough it out.
Anyway, thanks again.
<3
You’re very welcome, Jennifer. We wish you all the best on your journey with this.

I started meditating and practicing yoga several years ago during a particularly stressful period in my personal and working life. Of all of the onsite and online sessions I’ve experienced, your meditations have helped me access balance and clarity more than any other. Thank you, Mary. Your efforts make a difference.
Thank you, Carol, and you’re very welcome. It’s inspiring to hear that the meditations have helped you so much and we appreciate your sharing this experience with us.
I just want to say, Thank You. I am a 57 y/o female who has decided to return to school and work towards my BAS. ( a long time dream ) I have had anxiety about following through on my decision to do this. Now that I have found your podcast, I am sure this is what I need to go through with my plans. I will have to establish a daily routine of meditation, but this is the key to my success. Thanks again, and to you and your husband, be blessed as much as you bless others.
You are welcome, Deborah. Yes, a daily routine is key. Good luck with your studies!
Hi Mary,
I have been using your pod casts for over a year now, and I want to thank you for these resources. They really have helped me learn to meditate and I’m grateful to you for them.
I have a question. Recently, instead of being able to fall asleep easily like usual, I am slipping into a kind of meditation where I see myself waiting for sleep to come. I’m perfectly calm, just observing what happens, but of course the next day I’m really tired from lack of sleep. I was wondering what your comments on this might be? Have you had any experience with something similar?
Thanks in advance.
-Vincent

Mary… I love your meditations, having recently discovered them following a surgery that re-ignited a past battle with severe anxiety and panic. As I am now working with my doctor on correct medication treatment, the side effects are making things very challenging. Your meditations are very helpful as I go through this. Are there any that you recommend though for depression? (which I hope is just a temporary medication side effect) Also, since I am home for a few weeks recuperating, how often do you recommend that I listen — is there such as thing as “too much?” Thank you again and for your great work!
Jennifer, you are very welcome. The Emotional Ease meditation might help with depression. Try out various meditations and see how they affect you. How often is a very individual matter. Yes, there can be too much, but usually two times a day isn’t too much. You might want to try our At Ease Anxiety & Worry Relief program. It’s available on this website and also as a smartphone app. Be sure to ask your doctor if the depression could be a medication side effect and get help to make sure it doesn’t become too severe. We hope you’ll get all the help you can as you go through the rough time and wish you the best.

Hi Mary: i learned to meditate years ago – loved it and loved being centered. During one of my meditations I had an out of body experience and it frightened me. Since then I have resisted returning to it. I want to meditate ..I want the good stuff that comes as a result of practicing. Have you ever heard of out of body experiences during meditation? I don’t have any psychiatric problem, nor do i use drugs.
Thank you,
Trsih
Trish, please describe what you mean by “out of body experience”. What exactly did you experience? Also, what kind of meditation were you doing? I might be able to answer with this information.
Hi again, Mary: You asked me to describe my “out of body” experience. While meditating for a few minutes i began to float to the ceiling – I was able to look down on myself as I sat on the floor. I continued floating up through the ceiling and through the attic. i floated out of the top of the house and then higher. I could see down on the neighborhood. I remember beginning to feel frightened that i would not return – and then returned to my body in my room.
This experience “spooked” me and I have been resistant since then.
Type of meditation…I trained with a Hindu Swami – he wrote out a practice for me.
I wonder if this is an usual occurrence during meditation.
Thanks
Trish
Trish, this isn’t a usual occurrence with most meditation practices. You might try some other forms of meditation, especially something popular in the West like mindfulness, TM, or try using our guided meditations in our free podcast. See how that goes.
Just a big “THANK YOU” for sharing your voice and making these available. Meditations are essential to my life and I welcome having some new ones.

I am suffering from chronic anxiety, depression, disoriented and memory lost. With all these I have sleeping problem and I was only getting 2-3 hrs sleep. Since I started meditating I now sleep 5-7 hrs and wake up with a clearer mind.
