iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad Apps

A great way to enjoy our meditations and music!

We’re excited about applications and what they allow us to do that we can’t do with an album or the podcast. The ability to adjust the voice and music volumes separately is an example of the added value that an app gives. Here’s a brief description of the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad apps we have so far, with links to the iTunes store where you can read more detail and purchase the apps if you wish.

If you already have an App and are looking for support, click here.

iSleep Easy App NEW!

The iSleep Easy app contains a wide variety of guided meditations to help you fall asleep and sleep deeply. You can listen to the meditations with or without several choices of music or nature sounds. In addition, you can create your own sleep program using a Playlist feature which allows you to listen to up to six meditations in one session, choosing which music or nature sound you’d like in the background and how long they will continue after the voice guidance stops. If you prefer to listen to music or nature sounds alone, a Sound Mix feature allows you to listen to a combination of music plus a nature sound, or two nature sounds together.

✓  3 music choices and 6 nature sounds

Breathe & Relax

(formerly Remember to Breathe)

CHANGE YOUR BREATHING HABITS WITH 3 SIMPLE TOOLS
1 – BREATHING REMINDERS — All it takes is a simple reminder to help you start breathing again. You can program the app to remind you to breathe throughout the day. Choose from voice prompts, sounds or use the silent mode and receive visual reminders only. Choose how often you wish to be reminded.
2 – FOUR BREATHING BREAK AUDIOS — These audios are designed to help you take brief breathing breaks during the day. There are four to choose from, each with a slightly different focus — Basic Breath Awareness,  Deep Breathing, Pleasure Breathing, and Belly Breathing. Once the Breathing audio gets you started, you can continue your breathing break for as long as you’d like.
3 – BREATHING EXERCISE — This simple voice-guided exercise will help you learn to breath in a regular, easy way. Instead of a complicated exercise in which you have to count, pause, or breathe in a very particular way, this exercise uses an intuitive approach. It guides you to tune into your body and discover your own, natural way of breathing. The exercise is pleasurable to do and you’ll look forward to doing it rather than feeling it’s a chore. You can practice this as often as you wish to help your body get into the habit of breathing regularly and effectively.

Available for iPhone & iPod Touch Read more in the iTunes store.

At Ease – Anxiety & Worry Relief

Our At Ease app contains a unique approach to relieving anxiety and worry. With a combination of voice-guided breathing meditations, exercises and journaling, At Ease is intended to make deep and lasting change rather than applying a temporary “band aid”. Most people will experience immediate relief using the guided breathing meditations, but the long term benefit of At Ease will come from using the breathing meditations, exercises and journaling regularly over time.

Available for iPad, iPhone & iPod Touch (one page of iPad version pictured here). Read more in the iTunes store.

Attunement – music to upgrade your life

Enjoy Richard’s beautiful music with the Attunement App. Perfect for meditation, yoga, massage, exercise, or simply relaxing, this app has seven selections of music, each with its own special effect –

Relaxing, Energizing, Healing, Surrender, Primordial, Grounding and Inner Peace.

You can play any single piece from 5-60 minutes, and create a playlist of your favorites in the order you prefer. It makes a great meditation timer for those who like to meditate with music!

Simply Being: Guided Meditation for Relaxation and Presence

Let go of the mind and “simply be”. Choose a 5, 10, 15 or 20 minute meditation with the Simply Being theme. The app allows you to listen to the meditations with or without music or nature sounds. You can adjust the voice and music/nature sounds volumes separately. In addition to having just the right mix for you, this allows you to listen with or without music, and to listen to the music alone.

Available for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad

Relax & Rest Guided Meditations

Perfect at bedtime, or anytime you want to relax, this app has three different meditations of varying lengths. Choose from a 5 minute breath meditation, our very popular 13 min Deep Rest Meditation or a 24 min whole body meditation. Each meditation gives you the option to continue longer on your own after the voice-guidance ends. You can adjust the voice and music volumes separately. In addition to having just the right mix of voice and music for you, this allows you to listen with or without music, and to listen to the music alone. New nature sounds option: instead of music you can now choose from 3 different nature sounds as a background to the voice guided meditations.

Meditation Oasis Podcast App

The podcast app, developed by Wizzard Media, gives you easy access to all of our podcast meditations. We’ve added written Comments and Tips on each meditation, as well as some Bonus Music. A Star Feature allows you to create a “favorites” page. With the app, you can easily connect with us through email, our website, Facebook or Twitter. The app works on iPhone and iPod Touch. (Note: This is a “streaming app”. iPod Touch users can download meditations for use in Offline Mode, but will not be able to access all of the apps features while offline.) This is a great way to listen to the podcast and helps to support the podcast at the same time!

Are any of your meditations available to download onto my blackberry?

  2. Mary on April 17th, 2010 11:03 am

We don’t have any blackberry apps, but we did hear from someone that she listens to the podcast through an app called Viigo.

You can download any of our podcast meditations from our Listen to Our Podcast page, but I don’t know it it’s possible to then put the mp3 onto your blackberry (don’t have one and don’t know what it can do).

I am a long-time meditator and I was looking for something simple to help me ease into sleep. I was delighted to find your Relax and Rest app. It is just what I wanted! Simple, pleasant, light, easy… all these descriptive words apply for me. I was also pleasantly surprised with the music. It moves smoothly with the meditation and continues easily after the verbal instructions end with “You can stay in this space…”

  10. Mary on June 8th, 2010 1:33 pm

Thank you so much, Ann, for leaving a comment. We’re so pleased the App is working so well for you. Best wishes.

I just felt like I needed to say thank you both for your work in bringing meditation to so many of us through the iPod touch app. I have been dealing with anxiety and depression for quite a long time now,and what a blessing to discover Meditation Oasis..and Mary’s calming and relaxing voice ( I have never heard a voice so suited to guiding meditations !!! soo helps to center and balance my mind/body/spirit…) and Richards Music that is incredible ! I now use the podcasts every evening before I go to sleep..and I so look forward to that time.
I was wondering if you would ever consider coming to Portland,Oregon and leading a retreat/workshop ? again..thank you for your work and effort !! you are both making a difference !! Bless~sings and peace to you…

  12. Mary on August 2nd, 2010 1:11 pm

You are welcome, Patrick. We’re so pleased the meditations are helping! Right now we’re not open to doing retreats for a number of reasons, but you can always check back with us (in at least 6 months). I like that “Bless~sings” and we send that right back to you!

  13. Eleanor on September 20th, 2010 3:05 pm

Open the application, choose a piece of music, just sit back and listen and pay attention to your body. The Attunement application has been a great tool if relaxation for me. Among all the music therapy application I have used so far, I think the music in Attunement is the most powerful and effective. I look forward to hearing more of Richard Maddux’s compositions.

Can you recommend meditative podcasts for children? My daughter would like a bedtime meditation. Thanks for your free podcast, I really appreciate them. :)

  15. Mary on November 5th, 2010 9:08 am

You are welcome, Tara. I’m not familiar with any such podcasts, but if you do a search you might find one. I do intend to create such a meditation. How old is your daughter? What do you think she would like?

  16. Michelle on December 10th, 2010 1:08 pm

Hi I am another grateful user of your podcasts from your website and now your iPad apps.

I would also love to be able to offer my 10yr old son a meditation suitable for introducing him to meditation and relaxation. He is suffering anxiety which we are getting him help for but I would like to be able to offer him something to help him relax and settle happily at bedtime rather than him getting worried that he can’t get to sleep.

Thank you for your wonderful meditations & special music.

  17. Mary on December 16th, 2010 11:09 am

Michelle, it’s my goal to create a children’s bedtime meditation. I hope I can do that soon!

Helping me recently! I had a terrible
Car accident in 2005 & as a result I started to have problems with anxiety! Back then I just had to rely on talking to people about how i was feeling. The anxiety eventually went away but most recently ive been anxious again…. My partner found the At Ease app & I’ve listened to
It everyday since! In fact my partner has taken time to listen to it with me in an evening! We both really love the app & have also downloaded another one of your apps! Thanks to you guys I am feeling much better! I’m
A social worker which often comes with it stress… When things are busy I take 10 minutes and listen to the music and focus on my breathing! It’s great!! I am
Also hoping ur meditation helps with our plans to conceive! Thanks so much!!

Can you tell me what exactly is the difference between Simply Being and Relax & Rest?

    Thanks

  26. Mary on March 9th, 2011 10:50 am

HI MIke, the main difference is that Simply Being is basically the same meditation but with four different lengths (5, 10, 15 and 20 mins). The Relax & Rest app has 3 meditations, also of different lengths, but they have a focus on relaxing. (All the meditations are relaxing but this is a special focus.) Relax & Rest has a 5 min breath meditation, a 12 min meditation for resting deeply which many people use for sleep, and a whole body relaxation exercise. Simply Being has more to do with letting go and being in the present moment.

I listened to a friend’s Simply Being Guided Meditation app on her iphone and really enjoyed it. All I have is an ipod (not a ipod touch). Is there any way to up load the app from itunes to my ipod? If not, is there any way to get the app to work on a cd … and then I can load it on my ipod?

    Thanks
    pk

  28. Mary on March 12th, 2011 7:21 pm

pk, you can’t download the app onto a CD. We do, however, have a number of albums with meditations available on iTunes, as well as a free podcast. Search on Meditation Oasis. Glad you enjoyed the meditation!

  29. Linda Hays on April 16th, 2011 7:22 am

I just heard the Simply Being meditation on my friend’s iPhone and was wondering if it’s available for sale on CD? (or MP3?) I don’t have an iPhone, but would love to be able to use this awesome meditation. I think it could change my life!
    Thank you,
    Linda

  30. Mary on April 16th, 2011 8:28 am

Linda, we have a number of CDs in our online Shop — http://meditationoasis.com/store/guided-meditation-cds.php. You can purchase even more meditations as mp3s — http://meditationoasis.com/store/guided-meditation-cds.php. We don’t have the exact same meditation that’s on the Simply Being app anywhere else, but you’ll find there are other meditations with the same effect. You are also welcome to listen to our free podcast — it has another version of the Simply Being meditation, and many others — http://www.meditationoasis.com/podcast/listen-to-podcast/

  31. Jenny on April 19th, 2011 10:42 am

    Hi Mary.

I have fibromyalgia with lots of pain in all 4 quadrants of my body. I’m pretty new to meditation, and have found it is the thing that helps most to relieve my pain. Thank you for making your podcasts free!

I also purchased the chakra balancing app for my iphone and have been practicing… I’ve noticed that the one piece that seems to lower my pain level the most is the “centering” exercise on the app. I think the tone of the background music particularly works on some level– strange but true. Is it possible that the particular tone actually effects me so strongly? And, if so, can you tell me what tone that is and how I can get more of it? Of course, your voice and technique are lovely and helpful. You are teaching me to meditate, and making my life better! Thank you. :)

  32. Mary on April 20th, 2011 11:25 am

You are welcome, Jenny. Chances are it isn’t a particular tone that is affecting you on the Centering meditation. It may be that particular meditation for some reason, or the music in the background in general. If you are interested in tones to help with your pain, however, you might consider purchasing the Musical Massage Sound Therapy CD that we carry on the website. It is not our music, but we’ve used it a lot. It has been found to help some people with pain and it’s very balancing.

  33. Moira on June 2nd, 2011 9:45 am

Hi. I am looking for a meditation app for my mother-in-law. I have seen only one where there is a seated figure and you can hear the heartbeat rhythm with guided meditation. I think this would work for her if you know which one that is, or would love a recommendation on another good one for someone in their 70s.

  34. Mary on June 3rd, 2011 12:09 pm

Moira – Don’t know about the heartbeat meditation, but the Breath Awareness meditation on the podcast might be good for her.

First of all, thank you so much, Mary and Richard, for your website and your podcasts. It has been a great help for me to relax at work or at home, to refresh my mind, to feel re-energized.

I am currently 8 month pregnant and I would wish that you had something for pregnant women – to get in touch with the baby, maybe meditation when contractions start or for the labor. Your calming voice helps me to relax, Mary, and forget about the things that worry me. So if it not too much, would you please consider making a podcast for pregnancy. Please!

  43. Mary on February 5th, 2012 11:23 am

Aurelia, I do want to do such a meditation. Don’t know when I’ll be able to though. In the meantime, I’ve heard from women who have used various podcast meditations throughout pregnancy and the birth process with success. Wishing you and your baby a smooth birth!

[...] iSleep Easy: This is also be Meditation Oasis this app is incredible.  I have struggled with insomnia and difficult sleeping since I was a teenager.  I don’t do OTC or prescription meds, so those types of sleep aids are out.  (Besides, back when I DID take OTC and prescription meds, they had a terrible effect on me.) I’ve since tried melatonin and Gaia’s Sound Sleep.  Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t.  I had also tried GABA supplements, but I occasionally encounter uncomfortable side effects (I get horrendously itchy & flushed, all over – though they say there’s no “allergies” to this stuff, I beg to differ) that made me toss the bottle, finally.  Essentially, no sleep attained through ingesting anything is really worth it, for me.  So when I found this app, I was eager to try it.  IT WORKS.  And if my monkey brain is on overdrive, this app at least helps me to relax and feel less crazed about how tired I am or will be.   This app is a little more in depth.  It has pre-made playlists or you can make a custom playlist.  There are varying levels of meditation – short, guided meditations to simply help you initially settle into bed, breathing exercise, longer guidance in letting go and getting yourself to sleep, and a meditation for when you wake up in the  middle of the night feeling anxious and unable to get back to sleep.  (I have trouble falling asleep initially and then I often wake up.  This helps.)    I made a playlist that includes the affirmations meditation (affirmations to “set the stage” for sleep), then the autogenic meditation (14 minutes of focusing on relaxing each part of your body from toes to head), then “relax into sleep” (“Guided meditation to help you let go and relax, so that sleep comes effortlessly on it’s own.”)  Lastly, in this custom playlist, I chose to have the background sound of a lake continue for 20 minutes after the last guided meditation.  (There are several sounds & music bits to choose from.)  I find meditations to be FAR more useful and healthy, in getting yourself to sleep.  If you can teach yourself to relax and settle your mind, that will only serve to make it easier each additional time, without the use of pills (natural, or otherwise.) 67. Eleanor on December 26th, 2012 2:36 am

    Dear Mary,

I am writing to share my experience of using the “Breathe and Relax” app. I came across this app while looking for a way to relax myself in-between different lessons at school and to help me focus before revising my lessons. After a while I discovered that I felt most uncomfortable AFTER studying (not BEFORE my revisions), for I was so exhausted that I started hyperventilating. It was at such moments that I was reminded of the breathing exercises I learned from this app. They helped me regain control of my breathe and hence stopped the hyperventilation.

However, I would like to suggest that the longer breathing meditations of the Meditation Oasis podcasts may be added to the app, so that the app may be used for short breathing breaks as well as longer meditation sessions.

Thank you very much again for producing “Breathe and Relax”.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,

    Eleanor

  68. Mary on December 26th, 2012 10:37 am

Hi Eleanor, I’m glad you’ve found the Breathe & Relax app useful. Actually, the longer breathing exercise on the app is 12 minutes, not much different than the two breathing meditations on the podcast. Have you used that one?

  69. Eleanor on December 27th, 2012 5:57 am

    Dear Mary,

Thank you very much for your response. I tried the breathing exercise before using the 30-second breathing breaks in the app, but since then I seldom return to that exercise. As I see that there are 20-minute meditation sessions in other apps (e.g. Simply Being, Relax and Rest), and it is possible for us to combine your lovely voice with music and nature sounds, how about having the same functions in “Breathe and Relax” too? By the way, I’m just throwing out a wild idea about the app, and I hope it’s useful.

Another thing I appreciate about “Breathe and Relax” is the alarm sounds. I smile when I hear your voice: “Remember to breathe……”

Wish you a new year filled with peace and joy,

    Eleanor

  70. Mary on December 27th, 2012 11:26 am

Thank you for the suggestions, Eleanor. We will certainly consider them! Best wishes for the new year — may it bring fulfillment to the deepest desires of your heart.

  71. paige on March 14th, 2013 1:38 pm

I just purchases the Simply BEing app for iPhone. Is there only one 5 minute meditation on this app? When purchasing I was expecting to have several (if not more) to choose from in each duration. Please advise

  72. Mary on March 14th, 2013 2:52 pm

paige, there are four times to choose from. Just tap the buttons with the time you want.

  73. Rita on March 20th, 2013 9:50 am

I have an Apple I Pad and wanted to download Music for meditation and relaxation on it but I don’t see it on the apps to download, I find this meditation very helpful.

    Rita

  74. Mary on March 20th, 2013 11:17 am

Rita, It’s good to hear you are enjoying the music and website. I assume you are talking about our podcast episode of music by that name. There is an app called Meditation Oasis by Wizzard Media that gives you easy access to all the podcast episodes including that one. We also have an app called Attunement – Music to Upgrade Your Life with seven selections of music (although that particular piece is not on it).

  75. Shannon on May 20th, 2013 8:25 am

Why aren’t these all available on Blackberry too? I have only seen ONE app for the BB :(

  76. Mary on May 20th, 2013 9:25 am

Shannon, we do now have more apps available on the new Blackberry 10. It uses the Android platform which is much better for apps like ours. It was very difficult to create good apps on the older Blackberry platform and therefore there are only two available — Simply Being and Relax & Rest. Those apps will work well on the older devices if” 1) you have WiFi and 2) you have a very strong, consistent connection. Thanks for asking.

  77. Ben Pantoja on June 8th, 2013 7:31 pm

    Mary,
Thank u for your apps and podcasts. U have a gift for making me feel, during meditation that if I have any thoughts “that’s fine. It’s all part of the meditation.” I have dozens of meditation apps but I always come back to yours.

    -Ben

  78. Mary on June 9th, 2013 12:58 pm

You are welcome, Ben. It’s great that you are getting that. Resisting thoughts or feeling they shouldn’t be there is probably the biggest stumbling block in meditation for most people. Thank you for leaving a comment!

  79. Claire on October 4th, 2013 9:36 am

You have changed my life. Thank you for sharing so much X

  80. Mary on October 7th, 2013 3:49 pm

You are so welcome, Claire. This is wonderful to hear!!!

  81. Kat Montgomery on October 8th, 2013 1:31 pm

Mary – thank you so much for teaching me to be more peaceful. I have a very hectic career, huge commute, busy life (like everyone!) and three (great) kids, so any time I can find some quite and peace, it is welcomel. My mind rarely shuts off, and I have struggled stuggle for calm my whole life. I am even getting past some of the abuse of my younger life, by simply letting go. Your podcasts are teaching me to let go of those thoughts, guilt and worries that have always affected my life negatively. I get up at 4:45 am every morning so I can have my meditation time before my busy day starts. Thank you so much. You have given me a beautiful gift. Sorry for babbling, I am just very, very thankful for you.

    Kat

  82. Mary on October 10th, 2013 4:04 pm

Kat, so glad you “babbled” :) It’s wonderful to hear that our podcast meditations have helped you. Nothing could be more rewarding than hearing this. Thank you so much for leaving a comment, and you are so very, very welcome!

  83. Sarah on October 24th, 2013 1:14 pm

I used to have you’re worry box app on android and, I was wondering of any of the meditations that were on it are available elsewhere?

  84. Mary on October 30th, 2013 9:42 am

Sarah, we don’t have an app called Worry Box. Are you talking about the At Ease — Anxiety & Worry Relief app?

  85. Michele on November 14th, 2013 1:23 pm

So disappointed. I purchased your iSleep Easy App bc I ADORE your podcasts and they help me relax during acupuncture and fall back asleep in the middle of the night when I can’t sleep.

Now I can’t believe I spent $5 on it! It’s NOTHING like the podcast. First off, Jessie is not on it at all and it was his voice that eased my mind the most. Second, the meditations on the App are ridiculously short! The podcasts are usually 20-25 mins. What is a 4 min. mediation going to do? PLUS the selection is so small. For $5 — I expected a whole lot more. I am deeply disappointed.

I wish you’d have more podcasts — I will alert people not to waste their money on the App. HUGE disappointment.

  86. Mary on November 14th, 2013 1:53 pm

Michelle, it appears that you’ve bought an app that you thought was by someone else. We do not have any meditations by anyone named Jessie. We do have a podcast with 45 free guided meditations, but none are by anyone named Jessie. Our podcast is called the Meditation Oasis podcast.

  87. Mark on November 27th, 2013 11:44 am

Enjoying the breathe and relax app. Could you allow to put your own text into the reminder?

  88. Mary on November 28th, 2013 11:53 am

Mark, we’re glad you’re enjoying the app. We can consider this suggestion for a future update. We do try to implement requested changes if they are practical, and especially if a number of people ask for them. Best wishes.

  89. Grand on December 13th, 2013 4:28 pm

I’ve been enjoying and recommending your programs for many years. Love them. One strong recommendation and request: have a preset “repeat” option available, to play back recording 2-3 times.

  90. Mary on December 13th, 2013 5:18 pm

Glad you are enjoying the apps, Grand. Which app are you requesting the repeat option for?

  91. aseems on March 23rd, 2014 10:38 pm

    Dear Devi,

Please include Natural Sounds in the At Ease App

Also please include long meditations sessions (40 mins – 1 hour) in the apps

    Thank you

God Bless your Divine Angelic Voice.

  92. Mary on March 27th, 2014 9:27 am

aseems, thank you for your kind words. And thank you for your suggestions. We can possibly add nature sounds to the At Ease app in a future update. We are not likely to create longer meditation sessions, but if you get the Meditation Oasis podcast app by Wizzard Media, you can set it to play more than one meditation at a time. Hope this helps!

  93. Dylon on April 12th, 2014 12:29 am

Hi there. I just wanted to say thank you like everyone else and give you a quick backstory. I’m trying to go to college but I’m broke. Taking a semester break and working 2 jobs to go back. Was kicked out of my house because of family issues. Went through a lot of bad stuff at the same time (relationship of some years ended with her cheating and lying for a few months and me almost getting arrested when I found out even though I didn’t even try to backlash). The few people I had close to me suddenly stopped talking to me. I moved. Yada yada. I already had a lot of mental problems deep in me that cause depression, insomnia, etc. then it got worse. I figured I would try the simply being app since I had money on my iTunes account from a friend… As sappy as it sounds, the world just seems brighter. I’m happy and can sleep. I go to work with a smile on my face. I’m looking foward to the future again. What you did was something no one else could do. I am going to eventually buy every app you publish to try to help support you and to use them because they work. Once again, thank you.

  94. Mary on April 12th, 2014 9:44 am

Dylon, I can’t tell you how moved Richard and I are to hear this. It’s great that you were open to giving meditation a try. Clearly, along with whatever “mental problems” you feel you have, you also have a great capacity for happiness and to grow. Your are so very welcome. We wish you all the very best with college and everything else in life!

We do have a free podcast with over 45 guided meditations. You can find it by searching on Meditation Oasis on iTunes, or listen to it on this website on our Listen to Our Podcast page.

  95. Shiela Robertson on May 22nd, 2014 10:15 am

I purchased Meditation Oasis from the App Store. On the apps page it says “Cloud” but the icon is not showing up on my ipad. It has been about 30 minutes. Does it take a long time?

  96. Mary on May 22nd, 2014 10:43 am

Shiela, it sounds like you got the Meditation Oasis app with the podcast. That app was developed by Wizzard Media. If it isn’t working by now, you can get support at this link — http://wizzard.tv/app_support.php

  97. Tricia Wickizer on June 20th, 2014 10:25 am

I’ve bought Simply Being a couple times on different devices. My iPod Touch crashed and I am unable to get Simply Being reinstalled on it because it says I need an updated iOS. How can I get the older version that use to play on my iPod iOS 4.2.1? I really need it on my iPod.

  98. Mary on June 20th, 2014 3:14 pm

Tricia, we’re not sure if you will be able to get the older version of the Simply Being app on your device. You might be able to do it by getting the older version from your iTunes library on your computer. This link gives some instructions – https://sites.google.com/site/appleclubfhs/support/advice-and-articles/app-store-downloading-older-versions-of-apps-ios Please let us know if this doesn’t work.

  99. Lisa on July 14th, 2014 4:50 am

In the pod cast app you often suggest at the end of the meditation we can continue on ourselves, but that is impossible to do when the intro for the next meditation begins almost immediately. I have read several remarks about this on the reviews for the app, so I’m not alone in being effected by this. Could a correction for this be considered in a future update?

  100. Mary on July 14th, 2014 9:03 am

Lisa, in the Meditation Oasis app, you can change the setting so that the meditations only play one at a time. Tap on the “more” tab at the bottom of the screen of the app. Then tap on Settings. Under “Continuous Playback”, tap Off. That should take care of the problem. If you have any further issues with the app, you can contact the app developer, Wizzard Media, using the Troubleshooting button on the Contact page.
