First of all, I would like to say that, among all the guided relaxation or meditations I've listened to, I find Mary's voice warm, gentle and soothing. But the most important thing is that the speed of Mary's guided meditations is appropriate. Not too slow, not too fast, but flowing according to the natural pace of the meditation so that I have enough time to understand and savour each part of the meditation. The other meditations I've listened to are too fast in giving directions.

Regina, Sounds like you are already creating meditations people like. I can't help you with writing meditations, because I do not prepare scripts. I close my eyes, get into a meditative state, and speak out the meditations from my intuition. Best wishes.

This post was really valuable for me. I'm pretty new at creating/writing guided imagery meditations and just this past weekend I felt like quitting, feeling as though there was just no point in doing it.

But there are people who listen, who like it, and for now I guess I'll continue. Thanks for your post. It's encouraging.

Do you have any advice for writing guided meditations? Does it just come with practice or is there a resource I can turn to?

Gratefully,

Hi Mary,

Your voice is top of the league (next to Paul McKenna :-) )

I love your apps. Yesterday, I used the simply being and I melted while my heart became warm and soft.

Love

violinka, you can listen to Richard's music on our Listen to Our Podcast page. Episode #6 is Richard's music alone (as opposed to background music for my meditations). Here's a direct link to use to listen: http://www.meditationoasis.com/podcast/listen-to-podcast/

We do have two albums of his music in our Shop as well -- Pure Light and Sleep Oasis. Best wishes.

I found some of your words comforting and inspiring, especially those about expressing yourself and offering something valuable to those with whom we resonate. It took me a long time to learn to value myself as a unique being, and to accept that not everybody will like me or what I have to offer. Your words are a comfort of hearing a confirmation of my new understanding and maturity of thinking.
And I have a question - where can I listen to Richard's music? Have not yet had the pleasure of hearing it...

Hi jeff, Glad you enjoyed the podcast! Believe it or not, we made an album years ago -- Richard's music, my voice. By the time we finished the album, the songs didn't seem to reflect our direction anymore and we went on to other things. Thanks for bringing back the memory!
